|Title : Christian Leaders of the 18th Century|
|Author : J C Ryle|
Ryle was a major figure in the 19th century and his writings are valued to this day. It is therefore surprising that this short sketch of Toplady's life condemns him time and time again without even taking the time to put his conduct in the proper context or even say what his conduct was. At only 27 pages it is still well worth a read, after all it is Ryle.
