|Title : An Old Fox tarr'd and feathered|
|Author : Augustus Montague Toplady|
Wesley never seemed to learn from his mistakes and proceeded to plagiarise Samuel Johnson's work "Taxation no Tyranny" in a work entitled "A Calm Address to our American Colonies"
Toplady lost no time in pointing this out with some glee in his publication of "An Old Fox tarr'd and feathered" . This work made the very reasonable point that Wesley really should not misattribute his publications and also that Wesley had been "fibbing" when he declared that he had never sympathised with the colonists, when even his supporters had to accept that this was the case.
