This sermon took the text of 2 John 9 as its subject: Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. The sermon covers much the same ground as his publication in the previous year of "Free Thoughts on the Projected Application to Parliament for the Abolition of Ecclesiastical Subscriptions" , and very good ground it is too.
